Dr. Jianwen Zhang
Founder & Former CEO | Scientific & Strategic Advisor
Dr. Jianwen Zhang brings over 30 years of experience spanning drug discovery, translational research, pharmaceutical R&D leadership, and international business development. His career includes senior scientific and leadership roles in biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations in both the United States and China, including contributions to the discovery and preclinical development of two medicines subsequently approved in the United States.His experience spans rare diseases, antiviral therapies, immunology, oncology, cardiometabolic and liver diseases, CNS disorders, and fibrosis. He has also led or supported scientific evaluation, product differentiation, global development positioning, cross-border licensing, and strategic partnering activities across a range of therapeutic programs.Dr. Zhang has advised therapeutic programs on U.S. clinical development planning, including the identification and coordination of qualified CRO and clinical resources for programs considering U.S. IND and clinical development pathways. Through Coalescence BioPharma, he provides strategic advisory support for selected therapeutic programs pursuing U.S. clinical development, global positioning, and cross-border collaboration.
